Nella cessione dell’Inter è stata coinvolto anche LionRock: mistero, per Giudice, intorno al fondo che aveva il 31% che coinvolgerebbe – si dice – anche Massimo Moratti
Nella vicenda che ha portato il passaggio delle quote di maggioranza dell’Inter da Zhang a Oaktree c’è, in gioco, un terzo protagonista: il fondo LionRock di Hong Kong, entrato nella società nerazzurra nel febbraio 2019 con l’acquisto, per 150 milioni, del 31% delle azioni, ai tempi ancora in mano a Erick Thohir.
Lo fece, come analizza Alessandro Giudic, tramite un veicolo basato alle Cayman. Amministratore del veicolo diventò il fondatore di LionRock Daniel Tseung che, nell’aprile 2021, quando era vicino il finanziamento di Oaktree, venne sostituito da Tom Pitts, manager del fondo che avrebbe, poi, dato in pegno le azioni agli americani. Da qui arrivano le domande di Giudice:
Perché mai un fondo concede in pegno un asset, pagato 150 milioni, senza contropartita? Perché accetta un’operazione in cui rischia di perdere l’intero capitale senza averne tratto alcun beneficio e chi sono dunque gli investitori (meglio: i benefattori) di LionRock?

La struttura di LionRock ha fatto pensare che dietro potesse esserci la stessa Suning, ma, se fosse stato un modo per finanziare la casa madre perché non pretendere il rimborso invce che perdere tutto? Considerando anche ch Zhang non ha fatto valere l’opzione, ma ha lasciato le azioni in mano a LionRock.
Qui arrivano altre indiscrezioni, che coinvolgerebbero addirittura Massimo Moratti. Secondo voci dietro il fondo di Hong Kong ci sarebbe un gruppo di soci italiani, tra cui – si vocifera – l’ex presidente nerazzurro. Il mistero si infittisce:
Stanno davvero così le cose? Se dunque Zhang aveva dei soci mai venuti allo scoperto, forse si spiegherebbe il fatto che negli ultimi anni il capitale sociale dell’Inter sia rimasto inalterato. Tutte le somme versate da Zhang all’Inter in questi anni erano fi nanziamenti soci, oppure versamenti in conto futuro aumento di capitale. Forse per non diluire i soci di LionRock? Affinché quel 31% rimanesse tale perché entrambi avevano “contribuito” al finanziamento Oaktree dando in pegno le rispettive azioni.
LR ha agito da tifoso?
Effettivamente, LR ha indirettamente fi nanziato l’Inter, rinunciando ai proventi del prestito in cambio della perdita delle azioni. Lo ha fatto da investitore o da tifoso?
